Objectives Aqu'Attitude

The way that water naturally carries the body means that dance and movements are easier in water than on solid ground. The body and limbs feel lighter. According to the ‘Archimedes buoyancy and weightless principle’ the body weight in water is relieved to 10% of the full body weight.

And yet, pulling the body upwards and carrying out movements in water takes two times more effort. Staying anchored is one of the essential requirements in dance and requires extra effort.

This is why AQU’ATTITUDE is such an interesting approach: dancing in water appears easy but it is not at all easy on the muscles!

Contributions Aqu'Attitude

Muscle Tone

Soft fluid toning ballet dance movements in water strengthen and lengthen every muscle. The water pressure used during each movements has a draining and messaging effect on the body which helps improve blood circulation and strengthen body tissue.

A positive impact on the heart

Ballet dance in water helps improve and strengthen the heart. It is recommended for anyone who wants to take up a physical activity after a long time, and for people with joint problems.

Caloric expenditure

Another overall benefit of aquatic sport: the body is plunged into water which is a lower temperature than the natural body temperature (37,5°C). This means the body is forced to burn calories to balance the body heat!

Rest & Relaxation

A feeling of being at one with water, creates a sensation of lightness which helps the body feel both fluid and relaxed. This generates an immediate feeling of relaxation, releases stress and creates a soothing calm sensation.
